Personal History
I'm a 45 year old that lives on the SF Bay Area Peninsula and works from Sonoma to Pebble Beach doing computer and network consulting.
As a computer professional, I spend a lot of time on my laptop or smartphone. I monitor the message boards and am a frequent poster to Thumpertalk, Southbayriders and the Bayarearidersforum.
I ride with my wife and 2 little girls, 7 and 9. They are all on KX's, 60, 65 and 100 that have been trail modified. We like to ride San Luis Reservoir for practice, and the girls like Hollister Hiils, Middlecreek and Georgetown.
Riding Goals
I've been riding for a bit over thrre and a half years. I did my first Enduro about a year and a half ago, and was bitten. I did most of the rest of the series, and placed 9th of about 65 in my class. My finishes weren't great, but I finished each Enduro I entered.
After that first Enduro, I realized I needed to step up my game, so I started riding my mountain bike every day to get in shape, plus some of the skills transfer over. While my stamina improved, I still fell short of reaching my goal of a top 5 finish in class.
After the season was over, I spent the offseason riding 2 days a week at a challenging spot in Northern California and mountain biking when I had a chance. The first Enduro came up and I took 4th in class. I was quite pleased!
This season has so far been great. I've riden 3 of the 4 Enduros in the series and worked the other one (I joined the club that puts it on). I plan on doing the rest of the series, and some Cross Country events to keep in shape and improve my riding skills. My goal is to take top 3 in my class, and to advance to the B class next season.
I've recently started doing the MotoDoc classes up in Sopiago Springs, and have been practicing what he has taught us with my girls. I can already see a huge improvement in my riding skills, and look forward to the fall season with some new "tools" in my belt!
Competitive Highlights
My current highlights include finishing each Enduro I competed in last season. As a newer rider this was quite a challenge.
This season, with half the season past I'm in 2nd in class and 4th in C overall. I have earned advancement points towards becoming a B rider in each Enduro i've ridden, with a 4th, 2nd and 3rd place finish respectively.
