Personal History
I’m Madison and I’m 26 years old, I am a sibling of three others. I have a brother and two sisters, one of which unfortunately passed away 6 years ago. I work at the Cleveland Clinic as a nurse and graduated nursing school last year. I have been with the clinic for 7 years now, I worked as a nurses aide before i graduated. I worked on an oncology unit and then once i graduated nursing school i moved to the strongsville family health center to continue my career with cancer patients. I now work on a hematology/oncology unit. I plan to eventually go back to school and get my nurse practitioner and possibly continue to work with oncology. I have such a passion working with cancer patients because when I was 17 years old my mom died of lung cancer, so in a way it heals my heart to work with these people and help them in the same ways my mother needed help when she was sick and going through chemo.
I have plenty of hobbies and I’m such a busy body I’m always doing something. Some of my hobbies include; riding my bicycle, adventuring in nature and traveling, skate boarding, snowboarding in the winter, riding my dirtbike and racing, running and working out, and just spending time with family and friends.
Riding Goals
I started riding when I was 12 years old, I had a few guy friends who had dirt bikes and I always enjoyed riding with them. I asked my mom if I was aloud to get one and she told me I would have to ask my dad; my dad wasn’t agreeable on the idea because he thought it was a “boys sport and I would hurt myself” so my mom took me a couple days later and got me my first dirtbike which was a Honda CRF100. Ever since then I have grew such love and passion for this sport.
To me, riding my dirtbike gives me a sense of peace and therapy. There is truly nothing I love more than the power I feel when I’m riding, no matter what mood I’m in I always want to be riding. I began as a trail rider and stuck with that for years, just last year I raced for the first time and grew love for the track. This year I have been training almost every weekend up at the track and working towards becoming the best rider I can be. I have raced three times this year and plan to race more as the year goes on. I plan to train as much as possible so next year I can go to regional qualifiers and my biggest goal is to make it to Lorretta Lynn’s in August of 2025.
Competitive Highlights
Like I stated before I just started racing last year, I went from trail riding to racing my first race and coming out with third place. Last year and my first two races this year I raced my YZ85; second race I ended up with fourth and same with my third race. Back in January I bought a YZ125 and rebuilt it, I just got done rebuilding it about a month ago and raced it for the first time August 4th. I came out with second place and have never felt more happier for myself. It was my first time really riding my bigger bike and racing it and I can honestly say I felt 100times for confident on my bigger bike. I plan to continue to race my 125.
