Great bomb start looks like something out of "On Any Given Sunday” My buddy Rob got first in 30+c. on the works crf250f My start was good to the road in about 5th overall. Then got passed on the first set of woops by a few guys. It took a wile to figure out all that sand. The new sand tire D773 was working great. I wanted to conserve and ride smart. 3 or 4 yellow V’s got past me on the first lap I just kept them in sight. I started to feel good and made a push on the fist lap. Some loud mouth on a KTM #110 kept yelling at me as we did battle. He zigged when he should have zagged after a hill climb. Later dude see you at the gas pit. Or not. Into second place in the last set of woops before the finish. I had a long battle with Bovads on his yellow 450 he could pull the klx in the wash but I had him in the woops. Back to 3rd.  Pit. Then back out I tried to keep up with the leader Eric Brink. He was on an RM250.  1st and 2nd Teem yellow was burning themselves out battling on the second lap.  Pit. 3rd lap time to go. The 450 stopped on a rock about 100 yards away and looked to see who was coming. I gave him the finger. He pushed, he crashed, and I passed. Got lost for a minute so no run at 1st. I will take 2nd, first time on the box. Thanks to Fast’r. Not your typical event. Different is cool good job.

The speedworld Hangover GP was held on the 1st of the year. At the start things were not looking so good. A large crash caused me to jump off the track to avoid the pile up. This meant I was now at the back of the pack. I started the work my way back up when the worst arm pump of my life set in. After the fist 15min lap I realized it was my elbow pads. They were too tight!! I pulled off the track and was able to wrestle them off. As I stared to race I found that I could not stand up for freer of loosing control of the bike. I kept my composure and about 45min into the 1 1/2 hour race my arms began to come around. At that point I was able to work my way back through the field of intermediate riders to take a 2nd place finish in my class.

KLX takes me to 3rd and a posible podium for AMRA season

We got Speedworld MX park in phx sat at 4pm with the RV and 5 bikes  I rode for 4 hours trying to get my suspension set up on the klx. I had it set ok for MX. I was going for all the big jumps. That is the farthest I have ever flown.  Shocked . 450 power rules.

The plan was to do the team race with 3 guys to get a good look at the track. Two teammates had bike problems so we went for teams of 2. Kid of a mistake ONE HOUR PER MAN it ended up taking a lot out of me. The first lap of the team race was a rip the desert part of the track was perfect grated and preped dirt. My first thought was of skiing or snow boarding on fresh powder. It dropped into wet sandy washes with 90 drop down turns in and out. It was faster that AMRA but slower and longer than WORCS due to the enduroX and s turn sections.

I have been looking forward to this race for some time now. WORCS is a challenge because you race with so many people at the same time. At the AMRA globe National race I had 2 rows of 10 all go at the same time. This was going to be way more than that! Dicing it up with 50 guys at a start!!! The speed world start guy sucked we had no idea.... then bam go! suprize. I got pushed off the track twice during the first minute. Now I'm toward the back of the pack. A fellow rider was there to tell me what place I was in after every lap. THANKS MAN!!  6th then 5th 5th 4th 3rd. The track got very whooped out and knarly. My rear shock was not right and was kicking my tushy bad. I had some great battles that went on for 20 minuets or more!! But never spotted the leader.  Good times lets do the hang over GP on the Jan 1st at speedworld same set up.

I was looking forward to this event for some time because it was an AMRA event hosted by the RockStars motorcycle club. The fist race I ever did in last February was put on by these guys and man it was like racing on the surface of mars with cactus. These guys aren’t afraid to challenge you. I knew this race would be that same RockStars evil terrain with some enduro cross aka giant tires and logs thrown in just to promote yard sales! Me and the boys pulled into the Gila county fair grounds on Friday night and found a spot to park in the back. The facility was a perfect location for the race. It had plenty of room for everybody to spread out for parking and camping. We found out we would be able to see 75% of the shorter course from the pits. The track was around 10 miles long. That is on the shorter side for this kid of AMRA hair scramble racing. But they run us for 2 hours so that meant some 40 miles of tight technical single track for breakfast. On top of that with the amount of bikes out there the track would be ever changing throughout the day. For this event I had the Johnson brothers with me who where both first time racers. One guy on a barrowed 03 yzf250 (he actually rode to a 2nd place finish in sportsman class) and the other brother was on a 05 wr450 that he just bought the day before and had ridden for about 10 minutes total! Then next morning we found all the volunteers at the sign up tent were very organized and so attentive that one could think they were over staffed. We got the paperwork worked out in a breeze and headed for tech inspection. The Johnson boy’s bikes didn’t past sound check on the first go, but with a little McGiver style tune up we got them quieted down. The start of the race is always my favorite. This time my group, the 30+ novice guys, lined up in the back. This is the largest of the novice classes with 27 riders total this day, so we actually took up two rows. The other novice groups started to take off in front of us in one min
