Personal History

My name is Leland Watton-Dow and I started racing in 2021, although my first full year of racing was in 2022. The reason I love riding and racing so much is the peace I get from being on a bike and just how much fun it is.

In 2021 I started to build my own private motocross track on my family property. Ever since I have started I have continued to developed the track to be a place for me to train and continue to improve my racing and general riding skills.

Riding Goals

My riding goals for this year is to continue to develop my riding technique and my overall skills on my bike. My plan to accomplish this is by utilizing my own private track and the local tracks in my area.

My racing goal this year is to widen my racing area by making all the amateur races in my area as well as making it to as many racing as I can that are out of province and potentially in the United States. The goal is to get lots of race experience on as many different tracks as I can to help improve my riding.

My long term goal is with in the next 5 years I would like to get fast enough to qualify for my first pro national in Ontario. To do that I will try to continue to drop my lap times and improve skills to get me where I need to be to achieve that goal.

Competitive Highlights

I started racing in 2021 and raced my first full season the fallowing year in 2022. Later on that year I won my first race and was getting better and better results. I first was racing in the novice B class in the first series at my local track, before the second series started I got a email from the club saying I was pushed up to the intermediate class passing the Novice A class since my lap times were closer to that of the intermediate guys.

I have dropped my lap times by 5-10 seconds consistently since I started racing.
