Rider Updates
May 12 2007
Went out for a practice ride today and only finally realized my suspension setup just wasn't working for me. It took a friend of mine to ride it and realize the setup wasn't very good at all. So we played around with it a bit and went for a test run. The bike now handles a lot better overall and i feel and look 10x faster on the track, small adjustment=huge difference. I still can't believe the huge difference it made. Corners are easier, the front end is more stable through bumps and the back gains better traction out of corners. As well as jumps and ruts being smoother.
I Can't wait to take it to the next race and see the improvement.

It was a sunday, i woke up early to have a shower, have breakfast and make sure i had all my gear and things ready. Then it was off to the track to get a days racing underway. As it was my first race in a very long time, i was a little nervous. Nervous because i was unsure how quick i would be on a bike compared to everyone else. So i signed into the senior B 125cc class and got ready for practice.
Practice went really well as the track was smooth, and i took my time during the first few laps to sort out some lines and just get familiar with the layout. Sad thing was that at the end of the day i found out that i did my fastest lap of the day during practice. But sometimes you can expect that sort of thing to happen due to the roughness of the track as it wears throughout the day and your level of fitness.
Race 1: Race 1 was a real let down for me. After accidentally flipping the bike backwards on the first corner (confused as to how i did it?) i was coming last. This was a huge setback not because i fell off and came last, but because it changed my mentality for race 2. I began to doubt myself and my ability to do well, which as stupid as it may sound. Your mentality really can affect your performance.
Race 2: Race 2 was going very well. After coming third around the first corner i was ready to challenge my fellow racers. Until again i fell off around a corner. This time just dropping the bike on its side. And ultimately letting me down and affecting my performance once again. Also my body was starting to remind me of how unfit i was. And again i came last.
Race 3: Realising how important it was to keep my mind clear of the results from my previous races. I decided that this time i was going to win, and i was going to go as hard as i could until the finish. After a reasonably average start, i was coming 9th out of the first corner. But this time i remembered to think positive and cear my mind. And i managed to pass 4 peo
