Personal History
I am 22 years old with aspirations to compete and win at the top professional level of cross-country motorcycle racing (hare scrambles). Currently engaged in the Automotive and High Performance Technology associates degree program at the University of Northwestern Ohio. I aim to graduate and work as an exotic automotive restoration specialist while continuing to work towards my long term racing goals. Growing up in Darien CT, I enjoyed playing football, hockey, and rugby throughout my younger years. Once I discovered rugby during my freshman year of highschool, it quickly became my life’s focus. My rugby highlights include earning a spot on the 2018 Met NY Rugby All-Star team, winning the 2019 NY state championship, and proceeding to play D1 the following year.
Riding Goals
Following my graduation from highschool in 2019, I attended Western Washington University to study Manufacturing Engineering and play Rugby. My academic and athletic careers were put on hold when the Covid pandemic hit. Desperate to perform athletically once again, I began riding dirtbikes with my Dad and his friend in upstate NY. Riding dirt bikes had been a dream of mine from a very young age, these weekends spent riding with my dad were the realization of that dream.
Dirt bikes would remain a hobby until, with the support of my family, I purchased my race bike and started racing in a grassroots regional series. My racing career began humbly, I finished dead last and crashed no less than 10 times in my first race. Amid my first season I showed rapid improvement, culminating in a 4th place finish in November of 2022. Continuing my upward trajectory, this 2023 season I finished within the top-10 6 different times, and within the top 5 one time. While competing in more challenging events throughout New England and the Midwest, I continued to improve and qualified for the Amateur National Championships.
After crashing early in the National Championship race, I charged hard for over two hours making up ground, and finished eighth amongst the best riders in the country, surprising even myself. My experience at Nationals was very humbling yet encouraging nonetheless. I learned first hand that with hard work and full commitment I can compete at the top levels of hare scramble racing. The challenge of racing is extreme, and allows me to operate as my best self, both on the racetrack and in life. For the upcoming 2024 season, I am focused on continuing my upward trajectory, I forecast to win the regional EROC series and move closer to a professional race career.
Competitive Highlights
Since beginning my racing journey in August of 2022 I have gone from running in the back of the pack to consistently competing in the top 10. With only 1 year of serious competitive riding under my belt I am confident that with hard work and the proper support I can compete and win at the top levels of Harescramble racing.
