Personal History

My name is Lane Yates, and I have been riding offroad motorcycles for about nine years now.

I am part of my school's FBLA chapter, where I competed in the Business Communications event, and managed to obtain 7th place in region competition, thus qualifying for state-level competition, where I placed 52nd out of roughly 400 entrants. I will be returning to FBLA again, in an attempt to place at least top 10 at the state level.

As far as academics go, I have all A's and B's, and plan to attend a college in order to major in international business, and minor in some form of marketing.

My role models are Ryan Dungey, Trey Canard, and Andrew Short, because they are all genuinely good people with phenomenal work ethics, and they always have a great attitude, regardless of the challenges they face.

My father raced motocross in the late 1970s at the local AMA level. He has taught me to never give less than everything I have in a race, and that having fun is a very important aspect of the sport. He has also taught me that surrounding oneself with the right people is the best way to find success in any aspect of life.

For the 2013 race season, we have formed Gen II Motorsports. We did this so we can better represent sponsors in a professional manner, as well as to have a better sense of the camaraderie involved in racing.

Riding Goals

My riding goals for 2013 are to continue to improve my riding speed and physical conditioning, ultimately qualifying for the Loretta Lynn's event in the 250C Stock class. With the proper support, I have no doubt that this should be an achievable goal.

Competitive Highlights

My biggest highlights are my 3rd place in the 4-race Highland Park/SORCS MXGP Series in the Open Beginner class, as well as my 10th place finish at the SORCS Ironman Harescramble in the 200/250 Beginner class.
