Personal History
My name is Landon Mathis and I live in Fayetteville, Ga.! I have been around motocross/supercross all of my life. My dad bought my first bike when I turned two years old, it was a PW50 with training wheels. I lost the training wheels after I turned three and raced my first AMA race the weekend I turned four. I ended up placing 5th out of 12 riders my first race. I ended up finishing 3rd overall in the shaft class in the Best of Georgia series my first year racing. In 2008 I won the 65 7-9 and 65 Open classes in the Moto Madness Series here in Georgia. We usually don't follow a series and try and race wherever the competition is. I love to ride/race as much as I possibly can but my parents always make my school work come first. I am for the most part a straight "A" student with an occasional "B" here and there. I would ride everyday if I could. We try and practice a couple days during the week and race on the weekends. My dad works for Parts Unlimited so we are around the sport pretty much 24-7. He has turned wrenches for a few of the local top pros around Atlanta so my bikes are always in tip top shape. I pride myself with my actions on and off the track and promote all of my sponsors anytime I can. Thanks for your time in checking out my page.
Riding Goals
My goals for next year are to become a faster, smarter, and safer rider and to just have fun. We are going to try and qualify for Loretta Lynns, Ponca City, and Mini O's along with competing locally. I am also planning on racing alot of the FMF Indoor Arenacross in Tennessee, Kentucky, and North Carolina as well as riding as much of the Mega Series races as I can make it to. Class sizes here in Georgia have been pretty week so we are going to have to go out of state and race some bigger series. Hard to get faster riding/racing with slower kids......so we are going to where the fast kids are.
Competitive Highlights
I ended up placing 3rd overall my first year racing in the Best of Georgia Series. I ran some of the National Arenacross Series in 2005 and 2006. I got invited to compete at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for the National Arenacross Championship but we had already sold all my Cobra 50's and started riding 65's. In 2008 I won the Moto Madness Series here in Georgia in both the 65 7-9 and 65 Open Classes. I am on 85's full time right now and have had several top 5 finishes and even won a few motos locally.
