Personal History

My name is Kyle Van Pelt, I started racing only this last year. I have loved dirtbikes ever since I was around 7. I chose to go to my races over my Junior prom. Hopefully, that can prove my dedication. I love racing. As soon as a series is over and I have a few weekends off I just wish I was back at the track again. I have a whole crew that is helping me. I would love to say thanks to my mom and dad, Shaun Crawford (he pushes me as hard as he can), Derek DeSoto (works on my bike every week after thrashing it on a race). I'm very greatful for everything everyone has ever given me to try and help me. I put in my opinion, but I know they know whats best for me. I am shy but as soon as it comes to riding I'm not.

Riding Goals

This upcoming year I really have to step it up and I know that. I am being moved into the 450 and 250 novice class. The beginner class was a challenge but now I'm looking for an even bigger one. Hopefully I can get some good sponsors under my belt that can help me along the way and make me a better rider. I really want to achieve being fast and consistant and hopefully travel to more races. I'm looking at tracks in Southern and Central Oregon, as well as Southern California. Hopefully I'll be able to race at the Loretta Lynn's Qualifier this upcoming 2009 year.

Competitive Highlights

This last summer series in Marysville there was this rider I always ended up battling with, his name is Justin R. #290. He had his track, and I had mine. There were somedays I would finish before him and somedays he would finish before me. Even though there was the competitive nature between the two of us, we became pretty close through out the season. There was a point in time where we collided into each other, and that same moto my tube blew. He thought it was his fault and apologized as many times as he could, but it was alright because it was racing. There was nothing no one could of done to prevent it. I ended up finishing 1st overall for series points and him 2nd for the 450 class.
