Personal History

I started riding in 1986 as a kid in Oregon. After having a major spinal injury in the Oregon dunes in 2002 I took a few years off and picked the sport back up briefly in 2010 before moving from Oregon to Texas. In Oregon I primarily rode Woods, Desert, and Dunes with some tracks sprinkled between. This last January 2015 our daughter decided that she not only wanted to learn to ride but also race so we've jumped back into the sport with both feet and now practice once/twice per week and are training for upcoming events.

Riding Goals

We (my 7 year old son Jackson and 9 year old daughter Kylie) are currently training for the Houston Holeshot Series.  The series should start late December 2015 or January 2016.  I am holding off on entering any races before that as I want to take the time to get the kids ready for their racing as well as continue training for my own.  My goal is to complete the entire series for points and with the speed I've picked up over the last few months and the results from the race I did in July I feel pretty good about being able to win the 35 and over class.  After that we want to race the following series as a family:

EMX Championship Series

Texas Night Series (South Texas)

Main Event Series

Distric 20 Series

We also have an upcoming trip to Yuma Arizona over the week of Thanksgiving to expose the kids to desert riding as well as a trip to Oregon summer of 2016 to ride a mix of desert, woods, and Northwest tracks.

Competitive Highlights

After not having raced for almost 20 years and being off a bike for 4 years I was able to come in top 5 in a local race in the Vet Beginner class. After a few more months of training I was able to win both motos in the over 35 class with a substantial lead. I'm training and working with my kids Kylie & Jack Munson at the moment so we can start 2016 with the Houston Holeshot Series and go from there.
