Personal History

I'm a 35 year old motocross addict.  I am getting back into motocross after a several year "lay off" that was used to attend medical school at the University of Kentucky and complete a residency in a combined training program in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).  After June 2012, I will be board eligible in both specialties.  I ride a 2005 Yamaha YZ250 two stroke.  I remain a loyal (die hard) two stroke fan.  I also have a son (Kyle Douglas) who is into motocross and has recently started competing on his Yamaha PW50 and his KTM 50SXS.

Riding Goals

My ultimate goal is to qualify for the Loretta Lynn's Amateur National.  I recently qualified for the Loretta Lynn's Northeast Regional out of my Area Qualifier at Elizabeth City MX on 2/26 in the 35+ class.  I plan to run the District 13 MX series as well.

Competitive Highlights

When I was able to ride more regularly in the late 90's and early 00's, I was able to compete effectively in the "B" class at local races.  I won several season series at tracks in Tennessee and Kentucky during that time.  I also competed on the Victory Sports Mega Series as well as the Victory Sports Winter Indoor series during that time.  I look forward to being competitive in the Vet classes now that I am old enough to run them.
