Personal History
I grew up on the Montana/North Dakota border near the Yellowstone river. When I was around 8 years old, I got my first dirt bike and have been in love ever since. I was the kid that parents had nightmares about. Deemed a “wild child”, I felt like something between the bike and I clicked. I come from a family of motorcycle riders with my grandfather being a prominent flat-track racer/hill climber/hare scrambler prior to his passing. I ended up going to college on a football scholarship and afterwards became a full time law enforcement officer where I still am one today.
Riding Goals
Even though I began riding at an early age and always dreamt of being a racer on the biggest stage in the world, circumstances outside my control prevented me from racing in my youth with the exception of two or three local races. Now that I work full-time, I re-discovered my love for racing again with the emergence of the Dakota Scramble Series. I am able to attend and race all 5-6 rounds of the series which is what I have been doing for the past two years.
I now want to expand and challenge myself. I was recently told about a series in Canada similar to the DSS that is attainable as well as the Border Battle XC series in MN. Due to financial constraints, there is no way I would be able to make two or all three series on my own. I currently race in the Open B class and most recently placed second in the DSS season points. My goal for next year is to win multiple championships in multiple series in multiple states prior to moving to the Open A class, a move I am hoping will happen the year after next.
