Personal History
» My name is Kristi Moore, and i am addicted to motocross. :) I am 23 years young and i live in Calgary,Ab but my home is on a dirtbike. Others would agree with me when i say i am the happiest girl in Canada when i am on my bike! My first season was in 2008 and I had a natural gift on riding a bike. In a short season i worked my way up to 1st place in the Ladies B class. Not bad considering I did not know bikes even excited untill 2007. 2009 looked promising until i had a serious crash.
The accident occurred during a race in Calgary, AB. My front brake seized and i was ejected from my bike and landed face first. My 250f at the time flipped in the air and landed right on my back. I spent over a week at Calgary's Foothills hospital in the trauma center. The result from the crash was two brain bleeds, traumatic brain injury, tore all my ligaments and muscles in my neck and C1 and C2 was slanted. I suffered memory loss, hand-eye coordination and my emotion was waked to say the lest. That race ended my season and any sports, activities and work for a year. I was very lucky. The doctors told me I shouldn't be alive. If i was not wearing a high performance helmet, or had forgotten to wear my Leatt neck brace i would not be here today. As fortunate as I was, i still had a long road ahead of me.
After a grueling year of recovery and months in a neck brace, my memory was back to normal . My hand-eye coordination also came back 100%. That crash gave me a desire to get back riding and a respect for the bike. Ever since i have been determined to become one of the best. In the summer of 2010 it was time to get back on the bike, i couldn't be more exited and nervous. Very shortly after regaining my spot on a bike I went to my first race in over a year. All i wanted to do was RACE! By the time the dust settled at the last race of the season I won the women's class by only one point. I could not wait for the next season. Motocross is my happiness So i did some training and finished the 2011 season not just by a point but with a 25 point lead. Motocross is what i am passionate about and its what i love to do. Ever since i started racing again my results keep getting better and better. Every sponsor i have had knows that i bring a positive, outgoing and drive towards the sport. I am always smiling and the happiest girl at the track everyday. I will be riding and racing as long as i can. My goals are set high, and i know i will shoot pass those goals.
For the 2013 season i will be abord a 2010 Yz250f , with a potentioal of 20 race weekends. I will be in Local, Provincial and National Races . The classes i will be entering are the Women's A, 250 Junior and some 450 Junior races.
