Personal History

Hi! My name is Kristalyn and I started riding dirt bikes when I was only 3 years old. I rode just for fun up until last year when my parents mentioned racing and I wanted to try it out! I am a fearless, sassy little girl that is determined to do my best in the racing world! I know that there are now a lot of girls and women that race and I am beyond excited to be one of them and to show that girls can ride too! I watch videos and take my own of other riders so that I can learn how to ride better and how to master certain areas of the track and the jumps!

Some may say that my parents are crazy for letting me ride because when I was 2 years old I had an unexpected seizure and went to the hospital and found out that I had an arachnoid cyst on my brain. I then had to follow up with a neurosurgeon to see if I needed to have surgery or not to drain it. We found that it was a very common cyst to have and we aren't sure how I got it. For about 2 years after the first seizure I had 3 more seizures that were spaced apart and still have to go yearly to have an MRI to make sure that the cyst isn't growing. This last year I went for my follow up and was told that now I don't have to go back but every 2 years to have it evaluated and that I'm free to race and do whatever it is that I want to do. Just told to be careful and to know what to watch for if I were to crash and hit my head. So my parents made the decision to let me continue to race and do what I love! So here I am ready to go and be one of the girls on the racetrack.

I can't wait to see how far I can go and to learn all the different things there are to learn in the Motocross world.

Riding Goals

My goals in Motocross are to become the best that I can be! I want to learn how to jump higher and the different techniques to help me through a race and what to watch for. This is my last year on the 50cc and next year I will be transitioning to a 65cc and will have to learn how to ride the clutch. I will be practicing this year so that by next year I will already know what to expect and will just have to work more on the difference of having a clutch.

Competitive Highlights

In my first year of racing I learned how to ride with other riders instead of just in circles around my yard. My dad has started to teach me about my bike and what everything is for so that I know about my bike. He says that it's important to know about the bike that you are riding and to understand it because that makes you a better rider when you know your own bike.
