Personal History
My name is Kori Zabala and I am not your typical girl. I am a Registered Nurse. Hobbies that I enjoy include wrenching on cars and now jet skis, and racing. I began riding stand up jet skis in August of 2014, starting on a 440sx. Shortly after I moved up to riding a 650sx and learned more skills. In May of 2015 I rode my first buoy course on my 650 and in July 2015 I competed in my first jet ski race with DJSA and I was hooked ever since. I am one of very few women who race jet skis, although it is growing in popularity among women. I ended up competing in one more race for the 2015 season on my 650sx. After a long winter of practice on the 650 and gearing up for the 2016 race season, which was going to be my first full year of racing, I purchased a 2004 Kawasaki 800 SXR. Also I decided that instead of racing with DJSA (A regional series) I was going to race with IJSBA (a national series) since my ultimate goal was to compete at the 2016 World Finals in Lake Havasu AZ in October. After purchasing the ski in May of 2016, I have been training hard to make up a lot of time that my competition has on me to achieve my goal of competing at the IJSBA World Finals. I compete in 2 classes, Women's Ski Limited and Novice Ski Limited, which is a coed class. I will not give up and I will keep getting back up until I achieve my goals no matter what is standing in my way, I make it happen!
