Personal History

My name is Kooper and I like to live life to the fullest! Right now I work alongside my family on our cattle ranch in northern Utah. I enjoy being outside for work and getting to see things grow first hand. I have a lot of single-track trails on our property, and we have even held a National Hare and Hound race there before, and some races for our local race organization. I enjoy spending time with my family, going on adventures, and trying new things. I recently graduated college from Utah State University with a bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness. When I’m not working on my dirt bike or riding it, I enjoy watching movies and doing a little bit of team roping. I’m also involved in other forms of off-road racing. My family has a Class 1 race car that we race every now and then!

Riding Goals

My riding goals sound simple, but yet they are difficult. I’m always looking for ways to get better, faster, and more efficient on my machine. This last year I won the USRA 250 Amateur championship by a big amount of points. It was weird, because I wasn’t satisfied. I won, but yet I know I can do even better. I’m moving into the Open Amateur class this year for some more competition, and my goal is to win the championship in that class and move into the expert division for the 2023 season. I’m going to seek advice from racers who are faster than me and get tips on how I can improve as a rider and a racer. I’m going to be in better shape physically and mentally this year. And I’m going to make sure I always have a well prepped bike that will make it to the finish line consistently.

Competitive Highlights

My first full year racing in the big bike races was 2017, and I won the Open Novice class championship that year! After that, I had to take a few years off of racing so I could complete college. I raced as many races as I could in 2020, which was only 2 due to COVID. But I ended the year with a 2nd in the 250 Amateur class at the final race. 2021 I finally raced a full series again and was able to clinch the 250 Amateur title in the USRA series. It was a fun year and I was able to get a lot of good results! I ended the year by racing in the 2021 Baja 1000 down in Mexico. My team and I placed 2nd in the Pro Moto Limited class. That was a huge highlight for me, and one that I’m very proud of!
