Personal History
My name is Kole Edgar, and I am a 16-year-old amateur dirt bike racer. I currently compete for 612 Off-road and Moto. I come from a lineage of riders, being a third-generation racer. My grandfather began his journey with dirt bikes in the early 1970s, while my father took up riding at the age of seven and ventured into racing around the age of 25. Following in their footsteps, I started riding at the age of four, and over the past twelve years, I have accumulated twelve championships. My first motorcycle was a 2010 PW50, which I rode in my backyard for two weeks before participating in my inaugural race, where I secured second place. This achievement ignited my passion for racing, fueled by the thrill of earning a small trophy. My primary interests include riding, training, racing, and occasionally mountain biking. My ultimate aspiration is to achieve the highest speeds possible on a motorcycle.
Riding Goals
The motivation behind my decision to ride a motorcycle stems from the sense of liberation it provides, allowing me to escape the burdens of the world. It is a personal journey, me and my bike navigating the vast desert landscape. Riding is not merely a pastime; it is my foremost passion. I enjoy engaging with fellow competitors at the starting line of races and take great pleasure in supporting the younger generation of racers by cheering for my favorite Peewee participants.
Reflecting on my 2024 season, it was truly remarkable. Like many others, I encountered my share of misfortune, including a few races where I did not finish—one due to a crash and others because of mechanical failures. I experienced two fuel pump malfunctions, a bent sprocket, and a starting switch issue that affected my entire bike. Despite these challenges, I thoroughly enjoyed myself, competing in two full Utah racing series: the USRA and UMORA. I achieved 5 Overall Amatur wins and secured top ten finishes in the big bike overall standings. Overall, it was a fantastic season.
Looking ahead to 2025, I am thrilled to announce my transition to the expert class. I am already performing well, consistently placing within the top ten fastest experts in Utah, even managing to catch up to them from a minute or more behind at the start. In 2025, I will participate in the full season of the AMA Western Hare Scrambles and the AMA National Hare and Hounds, in addition to as many local Utah races as possible. This upcoming year promises to be a significant learning experience and a pivotal time for my racing career. I aspire to represent as many individuals as possible throughout this journey.
