Personal History

Hi I'm Kody! I was born & raised in small town Lewistown Montana. I've been on & around bikes since I was pretty much born. I rode a peewee 50 from age 4 to like, I wanna say 7 or 8. I rode a 65cc two stroke for a couple years in my childhood but I never pushed the aspect of racing then. It wasn't until 2015 when I got a picture, from my dad, of a 15 KX250f, that he had bought for me for my straight A school grades. I was pretty dang stoked! That was a great day, but holy did I have a rude awakening. The like of the Kawi didn't go that great. I blew through 3 sets of fork seals, but they were also the first set of air forks if I'm not mistaken. I was just horrible on the bike, nor did I have any bike control. It was okay though because I had heart & determination. I've had a 2017 KTM 250 sx-f in between that kawi, & the Honda that I have now. I loved the KTM, but definitely not as much as my new 2020 CRF250r. This year like I say below, has been a year full of working on my technique, basic riding skills, bike control, & all of the fundamentals. It's starting to pay off & I love it. I hope you guys strongly consider putting me on your sponsored riders list.

Riding Goals

I take it step by step with riding goals. I haven't been on a bike all that long in the later part of my childhood, & now into my adulthood. So, this whole year I've really been working on my technique, & that has helped out my racing so much. It's only going to get better, especially going into Big Air MX for my last race of the season (most likely). My goal at the beginning of the year was to string in some top 5s, I have. Now my goal is to get a podium, then from there on. Of course I always would like to win, but I know I can run with the front guys in my classes as I have held off some previous winners in my motos. It all comes with time, & hard work, but I'm willing to put in that work & commit to that kind of dedication to get to the top of the box!

Competitive Highlights

This year I've raced better than ever with almost all top 5 finishes, which that was my goal at the beginning of the season. I'm gaining so much more knowledge, & more bike skill with each and every day I'm on the bike. My biggest highlight of this season was at Big Air MX on July 19th. It was my second moto of Open Novice. This first part isn't that great, but I get stuck in the gate off the start. Come into the first corner dead last, out of 18 guys on the gate. I fought & managed to get myself up to 5th. I actually caught the two of the guys in front of me as well, & was side by side going off the finish line jump on the last lap. That was probably my best race of the season so far, but still not quite up with the front guys but I'll get there.
