Personal History
My name is Kody, i'm 18 years old from Innisfail AB.
I work as a mechanic full time at Turple Bros Ltd out of Red Deer AB. It is the prefect job to keep me up to date on all my racing needs, as well as become a part of the racing community.
I have been racing for two years now, both of which have been very successful. My first year was raced with the British Columbia Motorcycle Association as well as CMRC. Riding for Innovative Motorsports out of Kelowna B.C. we managed to get top three finishes for the better part of the year in the beginner class. However, I moved to Alberta for the last 2011 season and also moved up into the Junior class. My goals for the last year was to stay consistant and push forward strong, however it was a little tougher with 40 on the line. Although, im happy to say i met my goal in my junior b class placing within top 10 typically all year, and between 13-18th in the GP.
Can not wait for the 2012 season!
Riding Goals
My main goal right now is to be on the new 2012 CRF250R for next year.
As well as working on my riding techniques i hope to improve on my cornering speed. Once i start speeding up through the turns i should start to see some improvements in my results, which hopefully will put me up a class near the start of 2013.
I would also like to start being a part of putting the events on and helping out with more events as well as riding in them. This would help me focus more on my racing and the community around me, and help me meet more people that can potentially help me progress in my riding.
I would also like is to start off the year in better physical shape than last year i found that I was making myself work a little bit too hard to get where I needed to be. So my goal is to be better prepared for this season and make it as successful as i can to help me complete all of my goals and start on my new list of things to achieve in this sport.
Competitive Highlights
Highlights from 2010
- Always a top 10 finish - Top three in provincials
My 2010 year was a fairly busy year As i was just starting out but it turned out for the better. I managed to place very well all year as well as in the provincial races, it always feels good to come home with a bigger trophy. However, I have to thank everyone who helped me get there for my first year.
2011
- Starting with a full 40 - Top 10 in the amatuer nationals - Staying cosistant all year - Meeting a few more goals - Taking 4th in the BCMA nationals
The last year that past was a big stepping stone for me. I realized how many people you ride with and how much more competitive things get when you move up even by one class. However, once again with all my familys help and my sponsors we had a great year and i can not wait to do it all again next season.
