Personal History

I will be 7 years old in march, and i got my first quad for my 2nd birthday.  I raced that for a year when I was 4, then got my first dirtbike for my 5th birthday.  I love to race, play hockey, baseball, football, basketball.  I love to go camping and fishing with my family.  I love hanging out with my friends and I kind of like school.  I am in first grade this year, and I am getting pretty good at reading now. My big sister races a quad and she does really good at that too.  My Dad is a truck driver so he is gone a lot, but my mom takes me to all the races and fixes my bike and does all the upkeep to keep it running.  My family is very close and We love to hang out together and do family stuff, especially the racing.  I broke my first bone while playing football at school in the spring of 08 and got my first cast for my 6th birthday.  In October I had a pretty big wreck at the scramble and got a spiral fracture to the tibia.  Wow that was painful.

Riding Goals

One of my goals for this year is to do well in school.  It is not my favorite thing to do but I do my best and make the best out of it.

Another goal I have is one for the track.  I was not very consistant with my racing last year.  I was fast, then slow, then really slow, then competitive, then not competitive.  I tried out a few different bikes this last year, and don't know if that was the reason for the inconsistencies.  I finally found a little bit of comfort on my cobra so now all I have to do is get out and ride.  We are hoping to get out and do more practicing this year, as last year the only time I was on my bike was for races.  Practice make perfect, and I am hoping for some more top 3 finishes this next year.

Another goal of mine is to make sure that racing does not come between the friendships that have been formed with the other kids on the track.  As we get older, the competition really takes a hold on people and then people for get why they are out on the track in the first place.  My mom and dad tell me they don't care what place I get in as long as I race the best race I can.  It is not always about the trophy at the end but the experiences and friendships that you make while you do it.  This has been something that has affected us personally and my family hopes that we can keep our heads straight and remember why we do what we do.  And the answer for that is to have fun!!  Otherwise why are we doing it.

Competitive Highlights

The best highlight is when I went to Kalispell in February.  It was a friday night and saturday night race.  I had not been on my bike all winter long, and I was not even able to touch the ground on my bike.  I could barely even reach the pegs of my bike.  I did ok during practice and first moto.  2nd moto came and I was doing well.  I came around for my white flag lap and ended up taking the checkered flag for the very first time.  When I was coming off the finish line jump my mom was there to catch me, because I could not stop because I couldn't touch and hold the bike up.  My dad stayed on the track for a few more minutes to help the rest of the kids get off the track.  Wen he came over to the pits I ran and jumped in his arms, my mom was so excited, my dad was so excited, my friends were so excited.  It was the best feeling to have got that first place.  It was an amazing experience.  The trophy was almost as big as I a was.  It was so so much fun.  The next night I got 3d place.  My says she was happy that I got 3rd because she wants me to know that just because I got 1st doesn't mean that I will get first every time.  I have to work hard each and every race and give it my all every time.
