Personal History
My name is Kiana Clay. I have been riding since I was 7 years old, and has been racing since I was 11. I've always had a need for speed even before I started riding, and when I got my first bike, a Yamaha PW 80, I fell in love with the sport. After an aggressive first year of racing, I broke my neck at Freestone County Raceway on November 18, 2006 at 12 years old which left my right arm paralyzed. After being off the bike for 7 years, I became of age to make my own decisions and decided to get back on the bike since racing is my passion. I have been back racing for a year now, but I compete with one arm. While being the first woman in history to compete, I also race the Womans 14+ as well as Supermini Open class. In the future I will be competing in 2015 Loretta Lynn Regional, Loretta Lynn National, XGames 2016, Extremity Games, Adaptive Championship, as well as other nationals such as Ponca and Mammoth.
Riding Goals
I am the first female Adaptive racer in history to compete at the level that I'm at, as well as qualifying for national championships. I have qualified for the 2015 Loretta Lynn South Central Regional as well as being the first female to compete in the Adaptive Championship and 2016 XGames. I plan to compete in more nationals in the near future and grow as a racer, even with my disability.
