An overview of BISSELL PowerForce Helix
In our opinion, we believe that among the cheapest models (under $100) from some reputed budget-friendly brands, this PowerForce Helix can be one of the Top 10 vacuum cleaners . It is lightweight, easy to maneuver, has decent performance and relatively long battery life. This is not a vacuum cleaner that should be overlooked.
Performance
In general, this best rated vacuum cleaner demonstrates its ability to work better on carpet than on hardwood floors. Its power is pretty good compared to its price range, while it can suck in from large to small-sized debris. In addition, the vacuum cleaner has a 5-mode level adjustment to suit every area of your home.
On the other hand, this device doesn't have a rotating suction head and the cord is quite short, so these two weaknesses are a bit of a hassle since you can't move it to some tight spots.
Furthermore, the spinning brush roll can't be turned off for cleaning hardwood floors and the brush will also sweep out debris when they were already sucked in. That's why this vacuum cleaner can not clean up too large-sized debris on flat surfaces.
Construction
In terms of structure, if we compare this machine with its counterparts such as Shark's Navigator Lift-away line or Dyson's Ball Animal line (both models have plastic parts), the PowerForce Helix is really too mediocre. It's made of hard plastic, but it feels wobbly in some places like its wheels or wipers, as well as a few joints to connect the components. The dust compartment will also probably break if you drop it and you have to attach the removable handle with two screws when needed.
However, you can completely disassemble the whole cyclone unit of the machine to wash it clean without any tools. It also has a semi-portable configuration that allows you to get into crevices or hard-to-reach surfaces.
Other features
This machine has a brushroll that can be detached, by removing the six Phillips screws and the brushroll plate. From here you can clean it and this should be done regularly if you don't want too much hair wrapped around the brush.
Pre-motor filters need to be replaced every 6-8 months depending on usage.
The dirt compartment can be easily attached or opened from the vacuum cleaner. This also needs to be emptied and washed often.
And a pity about this machine is that it is not a certified HEPA filter vacuum. This feature probably won't appropriately appeal to allergy sufferers.
Our verdict
Long story short, if you are only interested in the performance of a vacuum cleaner at an extremely affordable price, this BISSELL PowerForce Helix is probably one of the Best Rated Vacuum Cleaners. Other than that, you should consider buying other devices at a higher price range.
