Personal History
I have been riding dirt bikes for a long time and just love the feeling of freedom when I ride. After graduating high school I moved down to Florida where I ended up starting my own business. While having my business I wasn't able to do much racing because work took most of my time. Now that I no longer run my own business riding is back being a huge part of my life. I work full-time for a construction company and my girlfriend and I are expecting our first child at the end of April. Currently, with it being the winter season and living in New York I don't get the privilege of riding, but I love that the Supercross season has finally started again so I can at least watch awesome riders.
Riding Goals
This year I'd like to be able to stay injury free for the entire season. Being that I have a child on the way I know that the likelihood of racing every weekend is unlikely but I hope to be able to race twice a month. I will definitely attend Unadilla again this year where I hope to defend my Plus 25B championship.
Competitive Highlights
My most memorable competitive highlight from the 2011 season was at the Unadilla National. As an amateur rider I raced on Friday and Sunday. Last year, I rode in the 450 Am class and Plus 25B class. In my first moto on Friday I placed second in Plus 25B. When I went out for 450 Am I had a terrible start, but by the middle of the 1st lap I was going to make the pass for second. During this pass we were going over a double and I took the inside line; while the guy currently in second took the outside line. We ended up side by side when leaving the jump, but in the air the other rider came over and completely took me out. As a result, I ended flying off of my bike and my bike went sailing. I wasn't able to finish the race due to my helmet cracking and my bike being mangled but I spent all evening working on my bike; fixing the radiator which was completely smashed, and fixing my handle bars which were tweeked. On Sunday I was nervous about the bike because I wasn't sure if there was anything else wrong with the bike that I couldn't see but I went out and ended up taking 1st in Plus 25B for a first overall. This was a great success for me because there are so many good riders and with the injuries I had faced throughout the season and crash I took on Friday I was slightly discouraged but I made sure to get on the track and do the best I could.
