Personal History
Started riding dirtbikes when I was a kid. After a 26-year break, I started riding again when we bought my son his first bike, a 2004 Honda CRF150F, for his 14th birthday. Currently racing in our second season with a semi-local Hare Scramble series -- the Northeast Offroad Championship Series, or NEOC, which is based in Millville, New Jersey. Majority of our races are in New Jersey, with a couple in New York and one or two in Pennsylvania.
With no great riding areas near our home, we typically drive up to Pennsylvania (2:30 minute drive) for training rides as often as possible, usually once a week. Currently looking to join an AMA sanctioned MX club in Hanover, PA, which we hope will make riding more accessible to us.
Hoping to get some simple sponsorship help to make the sport a little bit more affordable for my son and I.
Riding Goals
Hoping to finish in top 20 for my class (NEOC Senior C) this season, which I feel will be pretty good considering we typically have 45+ riders in Senior C class at any given race, and upward of 120+ different riders in our class so far this year. Hope to improve next year by getting into the top 15 for my class, and hopefully the top 10 the following year. Once I make the top 10, and with a solid 4-5 years racing experience, I want to move into Senior B class and race in the main event.
Also hoping to start racing with my son in one of the semi-local MX series within the next 12 months.
Competitive Highlights
Best race finish was 11th in the NEOC Cow Patty Hare Scramble 2011 in Berkshire NY. Finished 15th in the same race this year even though I raced a much better race, simply because the class has gotten faster overall with a large influx of riders new to our series/class.
