Personal History
I've been riding motorcycles for as long as I can remember. In 2000 I volunteered to act as crew chief for a couple of amateur road racers. Having fournd a passion for wrenching, I went on to attend the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Phoenix, AZ graduating in 2003. I've been working on bikes as a side business ever since. I have two sons that race motocross in District 23. After watching my two boys have fun for 3 years, in 2017 I decided I would try racing motocross. At 43 years old, my expectations were low, but I was pleasantly surprised to finish second in my first ever race. I had a blast and learned a lot, now to move forward.
Riding Goals
My riding goals are to learn and improve every time I enter the track. I hope to be as competitive as I can be and leave everything on the track. I hope to be an example of good sportsmanship, win or lose.
But my riding goals are not my only track side goals. My middle son was diagnosed with high functioning Autism when he was younger. Autism causes him to be very shy and struggle with understanding track conditions and obstacles and how to negotiate changes. Autism is affecting more and more kids and I hope with having a son with Autism, I can be a mentor or supporter of parents and other kids who struggle. I think sharing my son's struggles with others helps them to understand their own fears and reservations better and helps to motivate them.
