Personal History
I grew up on dirt bikes, racing motocross and riding in Baja. After high school, ski racing became my main focus and then later endurance mountain bike races. I volunteer at the Northern California high school league races and also help with the California Enduro Series events. Helping to get more kids on bikes is a great feeling.
I'm active in the fight to maintain land access for cyclists and motorcycles, attending county supervisor meetings and helping activist organizations like Access4Bikes.
I ride for the adventure of it, pushing myself to new heights, and the outdoor experience.
Riding Goals
My main goals this year and next is to win the Ironman class at the Baja 1000. Injuries have kept me sidelined much of this year, which is highly unusual for me, so I may not be ready for the 1000 this year. I'm planning to also race the San Felipe 250 and the Mexican 1000 in 2017. Next year is also the 50th anniversary of the Baja 1000, so I'm very excited for that.
Besides the desert racing, I plan to do District 27 & 36 Hare & Hound events, and a few Kenda National Hare & Hound events. Beyond that, I have my sights set on Endurocross.
My mountain bike goals for 2017 are various 8hr and 100 mile races, and the California Enduro Series.
Competitive Highlights
Since I am returning to competitive dirt bike racing after a long time away, I have no current results. I feel strongly that I can podium in the Ironman class at the desert races, and will be making every effort to prepare.
