Personal History

My name is Keagen Riley I am 17 years old and live in Iowa. I started riding dirt bikes when I was 3 years old with the help from some training wheels and then not to long after I was riding my KDX50 with no help. I could ride my dirtbike on two wheels before I could ride my pedal bike without training wheels. I started racing when I was 4 and then due to some family difficulty’s my dad was forced to sell all our equipment. I just bought my first dirtbike myself also with a little help from my dad,  it’s a 2021 Honda CRF250R and I’m in love with it. I made the purchase in June of 2022 and have been riding as much as my schedule allows me. I currently work a part time job and finishing my high school career as I will graduate in May of 2023. After high school I am looking to start a career in the field of welding,  I really enjoy everything about it like my dad says it’s an art and not many people can do that type of work so that is my plans as of now.
A little family history,  my dad rode and raced motocross when I was younger,  he started riding at the age of 12 and his first dirtbike was a 1996 RM 80 and when he decided to call it quits his last bike was a 2007 KX450. He raced the local series here in Iowa and finished consistently top 10 in the 250/450B classes. After racing he became a Honda/Kawasaki mechanic so this has helped with maintenance and care for my current bike as I would be lost without him,  he does everything for me and teaching me how to maintain my machine.
I have four siblings,  and two live in the same house as myself and dad and my step mom,  I have a younger sister and brother and then two older brothers one who is in the Marines and is stationed in Japan currently. Well I think that pretty much sums up my life in a quick way.

Riding Goals

My goals consist of just keeping on building my knowledge of riding and technique so that I develop into a better rider and person. Good finishes will come after I learn to be more consistent with my riding and knowledge of obstacles on the track that I am riding on. As I understand that I will not make a living from riding/racing motocross and will have to keep a full time job once I am out of high school I want to make sure that I am doing what I need to in order to keep my body safe and healthy. Eventually I would like to test my skills on a national type track or even Arenacross track but I have some things to work on before I feel comfortable enough to do that,  so these are my goals in a nutshell.

Competitive Highlights

I have raced in three events over the summer two being “fair races” and one being a normal series race in Nebraska. Finished well in each of those events racing the 250/450C classes. My last race in Nebraska was by far the most challenging as we had 36-40 man gates in both classes so my starts were pretty below average but that’s ok they will get better,  so for next season I am planning on following most of the two series that run in my area one being a AMA D22 sanctioned series so there will be good competition there to grow with.
