My name is Kayla Elizabeth Davidge Welsh. I was born in May of 2006, in Victoria, where I still live today with my mom, dad, and older brother. I also have some pets that live with us, 2 dogs, Mia and Grunt, a ferret named Slinky, and 4 chickens, Scramble, Daisy, Omlette and Pussy cat.

I love being outside, if I'm not racing or practicing at our local track, then I'm usually out camping with my family.  Which means I'm out making new friends riding around the park on my Mt bike.

When I am at home, and the weather is nice, you'll find me outside playing with my friends. If the weather is not so nice, I'll be inside doing something creative, weather it's crafts, my hair, or painting my nails.

Riding Goals

I'm really looking forward to the 2015 race season, I have been practicing hard, and making my way up in my class. This year I came in 3rd overall, for our summer series, as well as 3rd overall for our Tuesday night series. I accomplished this on my 50cc, racing against girls on 65cc bikes! So for the new race series, I plan to race in the 50cc class, which so far is all boys, and really plan to push myself to get in the top 3 places.

This past weekend I tried arenacross for the first time and LOVED IT! I raced the Kids Beginner class both rounds, and came in second both times. Although I did get a first in one of my qualifying rounds. I plan to get back over at the end of this month to race round 5 and 6 in the Canadian arenacross championships / future west moto in chilliwack.  While I'm there to race, I attend the learn to race arenacross school taught by Ryan Lockhart and Kyle Beaton. I'm looking forward to pushing myself, and coming home with some huge trophies again!  I need my dad to put up another shelf for them all. :)

Competitive Highlights

2013 season, I missed 2 months of practice and racing due to a broken leg. Surprisingly enough, not from motocross, but from my trampoline! But even with my down time I still came in 1st in my class for the year. That was the beginner class, which I started on my pw50, and ended on my KTM 50 mini.

2014 season, I didn't miss any races and practiced hard. I came in 3rd overall for the WSMX Summer series, and again 3rd for the WSMX Championship series. That was the junior girls class, which I raced on my KTM 50, up against all the other girls on their 65cc bikes.

Brand new to me this year, arenacross! So far I have raced round 3 and 4, in the Canadian arenacross championships, beginner kids class. For both of those races I came in 2nd, I even got 1st for one of my qualifying rounds! That track was quite different to what I am used too, but I loved it! I plan on getting back over again at the end of this month for rounds 5 and 6.

I was able to get back and do rounds 5,6,7&8 ( my parents scraped up the money to get me back) and I ended up finishing 2nd overall for the whole series. I had 3 first place qualifiers during these races and pulled off a 1st place finish on round 8. I was so excited about my 1st place, it took me a couple of days before it sank it. It was the most awesome racing I have ever done, I can't wait til arenacross starts again.
