Personal History

I grew up in a house where crying wouldn't get you anywhere. If you couldn't lift something because it was heavy, try harder. My dad often said to me when I would complain, "Don't be pathetic". This sounds harsh when I type it right now and don't be confused, he loved me dearly. I also grew up with an older brother who was a natural athlete. He was amazing at everything he did and because of that, so was I. I grew up with a feminist as a mother, their was no way I was going to be treated less or not allowed to participate because I was a girl. When I was a child, there was no girls team. I played with the boys, which meant I had to be better then the boys. I also grew up with a younger sister who had learning disabilities. As I child, she didn't give a shit about what anyone thought of her, she was a wild child on a terror. This was the most important lesson of all, to be who you truly are, regardless of what people are going to think of you. All these things have translated into who I am today, an incredibly strong and driven woman.

Riding Goals

I could never have predicted I would become so obsessed with dirt biking. I've always been an athlete, but in the past its always been about team sports. I first got on a Dirtbike for pleasure about 5 years ago. Right away, I knew I had a passion and quickly turned that pleasure riding into practice, drills and training. My competitive nature took a hold and this season I competed in my first races. Their are 2 things I focus on the most in my riding and racing, mistakes and track times. Firstly, I'm not focused as much on winning as I am on riding clean and smooth without mistakes. This usually translates into my second focus, resulting in faster track times. My goals are to compete in Womens Pro in the 2022 season, to have clean races with few mistakes if any, resulting in fast track times!

Competitive Highlights

This year many of our races across British Columbia were cancelled due to wildfires. Vancouver Island, however, did host a mini series of races called the Vancouver Island Hare Scramble Series. My first race of the year I made a pretty big mistake right away and watched every single person on the course pass me. I told myself, you have already lost so now your only focus is to ride clean, no more mistakes. I ended up racing smooth and clean after that point and placing second in that race. That was my biggest highlight of the year, to know you are in last place on the course and getting back up and persevering to that finish line was a huge accomplishment for me.
