Personal History
My name is Callen Covey. I am 6 years old. I live in Marietta, Ohio with my mom, dad, and dog KhIoe. I attend St. Mary Catholic School. I participate in soccer and flag football. Outside of school I love to ride my dirt bike and race any chance I am able. Family is a big part of my life and a huge support system of mine. I have two sets of grandparents who are very involved in my life. I also have many friends whom I've made through school and riding that I enjoy spending time with.
I share many hobbies with my family. My mom and dad also race dirt bikes and ride mountain bikes. I race a 2023 KTM 50 mini. I also race a Pure Speed electric bike as well. My favorite go to bike is a 14x strider that I enjoy riding either in my neighborhood or at the track with friends. I love spending every extra minute riding and practicing my riding skills. We try to ride at local tracks as much as possible outside of the racing series. Currently, on Wednesday nights I attend kids bike night at Wildwood Lake Raceway where I ride with local kids and get some good experience.
My love for dirt-bikes evolved from my dad. He competed in BMX as a child and also raced dirt-bikes. My biggest passion is riding anything on two wheels.
At 18 months old I started balancing on a 12-inch strider bike. I started riding an electric Oset at 2 years old and I excelled in that very quickly. Next, I moved on to a Yamaha 50 where I participated in my first 2 races in four to six junior class at JXC cross country series at 5 years old. Shortly after I began racing a KTM 50 in the four to six junior class through the same series. I love riding and I practice anytime I can. Riding has become the biggest part of my life outside of school and sports.
Riding Goals
I ride dirt bikes because it comes natural to me, and I have always felt comfortable on two wheels. Racing is not easy to sustain, and I love the self-discipline it requires. The reward that comes from seeing improvement in lap times every race is what encourages me to keep improving. The comradery of the other families at the track is what draws me to the racing world. It really is a family friendly atmosphere for everyone. I strive to do the best and better myself every time I practice or race my bike. Racing teaches me never to give up even on bad days. I think it also makes me a good role model for other kids as well. It is a dedication that I take very seriously. Also, I think it helps me excel in school because I learn that I can make huge accomplishments similar to racing in my schoolwork. Aside from my education, it is the most important aspect in my life.
My goal for next year is to win another four- to six-year-old junior championship at JXC cross country series. Also, I plan to run some rounds at the Buckeye series in MX to try motocross. I would also like to run a few rounds at GNCC. A dream of mine is to qualify next year for the Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn's. I plan on participating in any riding schools or local events to increase my skills next year.
