The 2012 season has been a rough one.


Last year, Justin proved he had the physical strength to get back on the bike after a major injury. This year he proved that he has the mental strength to get back up when fate knocks him down.


After working and training for over a year, after beating everyone in three classes at the area and regional qualifiers, after doing everything right, Justin still lost his chance to go to Loretta Lynn’s through no fault of his own.


Justin dominated the C class at the area qualifier in Reddick. He took 1st place in 250C stock, 250C mod and 450C. At one point Justin was so far ahead, the announcer said he was in his own time zone.


At the Mill Creek regionals, there were some very good riders, but Justin was still able to outrun them.


In the first moto for 250C Stock, Justin was out front and easily took 1st.  He did the same in the 450C class even though the classes were run almost back to back with no chance to rest in between.


In 250C mod, he was ahead when he fell in a corner that had just been watered. He jumped up and raced his way back to 2nd before running out of track.


Then the first blow fell in the second moto for 250C Stock. An out of control rider crashed into Justin and several others at the start. There went his chance to qualify in that class.


Justin hit the ground so hard, the lens popped out of his goggles.  Yet even after taking the hit, both physically and mentally, he finished the race, returned to the starting line and won the second moto in 450C.


The next day it poured turning the track into a giant slip and slide.  Justin stayed in front and won the 2nd moto in 250C mod.  In the third moto of 250C stock, a tangle of riders pushed Justin into the middle of the pack. He rode his way through the mud and chaos all the way back to a 2
