Personal History
My name is Joshua Wells, I’m 20 years old and I live in a little town called Eagle Point located in southern Oregon. For a living I run the family business of concrete pumping. I’ve been asked why I choose to race in northern California cross country races and not in Oregon, well either way its about the same amount of drive time because dirt bike racing isn’t big here in southern Oregon and there is hardly any events put on beside a few motocross. The big reason why I race in northern California for the District 36 series is the competition, friendships where I have family and friends to be around and the love of the sport.
I have been racing since 2006 in the AMA D-36 cross country series. During my first year of racing I had only competed in few events, but already had enough points to advance to the B-open class for the 2007 series. In the B class my results varied through out the remaining of the series where I finished second in my class. In the 2008 spring B/C series I was able to compete full time where I also finish second in my class and currently 16 th overall in the AA, A standing. Although at the end of the spring series I had enough point to advance to the A-open class where I plan on finishing out the remainder of the 2008 series.
Riding Goals
My goals for the 2009 Cross Country series are to improve on my training with strength and conditioning and hopefully stay with in the top 20 overall standing and possibly get into the top 10 standing, where I am hoping to move into the AA class by the 2010 series.
