Personal History
I am 16 years old and it has been my dream to be a pro rider. When I was 5, my stepdad bought me a dirtbike so I could start racing. He bought it on my birthday May 31st and I was so excited, I still remember it like it was yesterday. On July 30th shortly after he was killed in a car accident when someone came across the line and hit him head on. My mom was pregnant with my little brother and my stepdad was on the way to the hospital and was on the phone with her when it happen. I begged my mom every year to let my race but she just kept saying she could not do it on her own. Finally about a year ago my mom said ok we will try but I can't promise you that we can do it because she was afraid she could not afford it but we found a guy selling a dirtbike. It was a 2001 yz 125 and luckily he let my mom make him payments because she did not have the money to buy it. We started running the TMXA series and met some amazing people that we are lucky to have met because they become super good friends and would help us out anytime we had a problem. I know it was not easy on my mom trying to do it all by herself but she did and we made it to every TMXA race that season and I finished the season in Schoolboy in 2nd place overall. I was also sitting 1st in Beginner class but it did not count towards points. We went ahead and did indoors and I finished 3rd in points in Schoolboy in the indoors series. We went and did a few other series but not enough to count towards points because we was focusing on the one series. This is my second year now and we are still running the TMXA series and I am sitting in 3rd in 250C class and 4th in Schoolboy in overall points as of right now. I am wanting to go run some bigger tracks and series and try to go to some Qualifiers. We wanted to go to some this year but my mom just did not have the extra money. I do understand that it is hard on her doing this as a single mom with me and my 3 brothers and just her income with work. I am thankful that she just gets me to the races and we have had to youtube but we make it and now I have moved up to a better bike but would love to get me a 2 stroke one day. I don't have the best gear that looks brand new and my helmet is almost broke but I know my mom is doing the best she can and its not about the material things but any help with a sponsership would help us out so much and I would be so grateful. Motocross is my life and I live and breath it!
