Personal History
My name is Josh Ricca. I am a first grader at Dolores Elementary. I decided I wanted to ride dirt bikes after watching our neighbor, Nathan Hensley, ride his motorcycle and fly over jumps. I got my first dirt bike last year for my 6th birthday. It was a KTM mini adventure. It wasn't until about March of 2010 that I really started riding. Thankfully, my neighbor and pro rider, Nathan Hensley, lives across the street from me and I had a track to learn and practice on. July 10th I got to go to my first arenacross race in Farmington, NM. I took 2nd in the 50cc 4-6 age group and 3rd in the 50cc super peewee class. I then went to Gallup, NM July 24th, again taking 2nd in the 50cc 4-6 age group. My mom and dad decided that if I was going to be competitive I would need to get a bike with more power. In August, I got a KTM 50cc Junior racing bike. My first race on it was in Aztec, NM August 29th. I took 1st in the 50cc beginner class.
Riding Goals
My goal for next year is to race the Tex-New Mex Summer Arenacross Series as well as the 2011 MX Series in Aztec, NM. I hope to also attend some races around Phoenix, AZ because my granpa and aunt live there.
Competitive Highlights
Best Race was August 29th in Aztec, NM. I got a 1st in the 50cc beginner class. The 50cc track was awesome!
