Personal History
I am fourteen years old and an eigth grade student at Dightn Middle School. I started riding about four years ago and began competing two years ago. As a novice I was riding and competing with a 65CC Kawasaki and an 85 CC Yamaha YZ85. I soon realized that competition riding was alot different than pit riding. I was finishing in the top ten but I wasn't where I wanted to be in the front of the pack. I heard about this riding school called Kieth Johnson's. My parents and grandparents enrolled me and I have been a student of theirs now for a year and a half. My riding skills have improved tremendously and I have advanced to the amatuer class now competing solely on a Yamaha YZ 85. I consistenly now place in the top five , finishing primarily in the top three.
Getting the proper training and the support of my parents and grandparents are the main reasons for my success. I may never be a Chad Reed or a Bubba Stewart but I will never stop trying to reach their level of skill. The thrill of racing and the friends I've made are hard to beat. Let me tell you a little about my mechanic. He's a hard working truck driver by day and a real good bike mechanic the rest of the time. Even though he works long hours he manages to keep my bikes in top racing condition. I owe alot of my wins to his mechanical skills.
Riding is everything to me and I love to win my motos. Even though I love to win I realize riding safe is even more important. Next season I will be riding a Yamaha YZ250F. It will a new challenge but I am definitely up for it. A bigger, faster bike ,who wouldn't be!
Riding Goals
I will be starting out in the 125 C Class next season and my goal is to advance to the 125 B class by the Fall session. This will take alot of hard work and training but with the help of Kieth Johnson's Motocross School I am hoping to make this happen. My other goals are to finish in at least the top five of the races I compete in, learn as much as I can about racing motocross, and to make more good friends.
Competitive Highlights
I competed in my first New England Regional competition this year at Winchester Raceway in New Hampshire. The track was the biggest I have ever raced and it was fast and very challenging. I managed to finish fourth overall in the 85C class and was happy with this accomplishment. I entered the 85B Class in the Fall Session and finished consistently in the top five.
