Personal History
My family has been in the agriculture industry for generations from dairy business to farming different crops down here in the central valley. Growing up in the country I always rode dirt roads and ditch banks. When I was about eight my family started going to the desert about 4 to 5 times a year. I enjoyed it a lot, but I always wanted to ride more. Recently I have started to love dirtbike, riding more than I ever have before. I appreciate writing now more than I used to because there was a point where I didn't know if I would be able to ride ever again. in February 2022 I was writing out in the Pismo dunes when I over, jumped a bowl to bowl transfer and burst in my L1 vertebrae. I underwent surgery that night and had two rods and 10 screws put in my back. At first I was scared to ride again but when I got back on a bike, it just felt right.
Riding Goals
I have always been and adrenaline junkie, and I found that riding my dirtbike is one of the most enjoyable ways to get my fix and I race because I've always had a competitive edge. This year I am just getting my feet wet doing almost every type of district 37 race available. I am hoping to move out of C class by the end of the season and it looks like that will happen. Next year I plan to race every hare and hound in the district 37 schedule and I would like to compete in the points championship.
Competitive Highlights
I raced a Hare and hound back in January, which consist of 2 40 mile loops through the desert. I was extremely burnt out and tired when starting the second loop, and by the time I finished, I didn't think I did good because I never quite found my groove. I ended up taking sixth place that race which isn't bad, but not good enough for me. so I trained and rode and came back and race a sprint enduro, which I ended up taking second in. The best is yet to come in my racing career.
