Personal History
I grew up riding ATV's with my father and got into ATV motocross around the age of 13. I raced several seasons with AMA until local Pro events were no longer competition then moved up to ATVA nationals. I had full sponsorship with Legacy ATV. They provided mechanic work for me and also helped me with my training. I raced in 4-Stroke B and was top 2 in my class. I had ambitions to go to 4-Stroke A however without full sponsorship I could simply not afford to travel all across the country for another year. I got out of ATV racing at the age of 18 and have been in college since. In the last year, I rode my first dirtbike and have decided to campaign a year of racing. I quickly became much faster than my friends who have been riding for years due to my previous experience in motocross with ATVs.
On a more personal note, I am currently a senior in Mechanical Engineering at North Carolina State University and look forward to graduating. I work for Cyclegear in Raleigh, NC where I can use my passion for motorcycles to help other people get the gear and parts they need.
Riding Goals
My goal for the 2011 season is to be a competitive top 5 finisher in the 450C class. If I keep progressing as fast I have been, by the end of the season I could easily be the fastest rider in AMA 450C for my district. I hope to move up to 450B the following year.
Competitive Highlights
I would say the biggest highlight of my competition in dirtbike motocross was taking the holeshot in my first race and going on to take 1st place for the weekend.
