Personal History
My name is Jonathan Sawyer, I have been riding motorcycles since I was three years old. I raced for the first time the day before my 4th birthday. I got stuck in the mud and my dad kept pulling me out of the mud and pulling me off the track,I would just turn around and go back to the track and get stuck again. My dad told me that I had to get off the track and I told him that I couldn't get off the track, he asked me why and I told that I hadn't won yet . That was where it all started for me.
Motorcycles are my passion but I am well rounded in my activity. I also Snowboard, Skate, Bike, Martial Arts, Hunting, Fishing, Golfing, I have played Football, and Basketball in school. School activity for me have slowed down so that I can train more for MX. I spend as much time on my motorcycles as I can. Racing is not all that I do, I spend time riding with my friends on trails and desert rides.
I live in Silver Springs NV. and have 5 acres that we are building a track on. I can get on my bike at my house and ride any direction that I wish to go in. I have encouraged several of my friends to start riding and now a couple of them have started racing. I like to help new riders get started and teach them what I know about riding.
Riding Goals
I have been racing the local series and feel I need to move into the National circut. This year I entered the Arena Cross in Reno and learned alot about small indoor tracks. It was the third race I did on my 250.
I also enterd the Lorreta Lynns area qualifyer and finshed mid pack. I did not have an opportunity to enter another qualifyer due to my dads work and my commitment to the local series that I was in.
I have entered the Mammoth Lakes race and hope to finish in the top 10, I will do my best to win but know that I need more experance in this type of venu. I am looking forward to Glen Helen .
Competitive Highlights
My competitive highlights inclued my first series win on my 50 at age 5. My trophy was taller than me, but I carried it with pride out of the awards dinner and would not let my family help at all. I have 4 first place 1 second place and 2 third place seires wins.
