Personal History
I remember growing up as a kid wanting nothing more than a dirtbike, but we didn't have much money growing up. Well, I finally convinced my dad to get me one when I was 13. That was back around 2001. We found a pair of old Hodakas at a garage sale, went through the carbs and had em running in no time. I learned how to ride that old 100 and then he got me a '79 YZ250 which I rode until I was about 15. That thing was CLAPPED OUT!! But I rode the crap out of it and didn't care LOL. When we moved to Missouri around 2004 I met a neighbor who was into riding and was teaching his son to ride. They influenced me a lot to get a newer bike and I start riding with them quite a bit. They pretty much adopted me the day I randomly chased them down to their house and introduced myself as the neighbor down the street with the YZ. Long story short, thanks to them I developed even more of a love for riding which lead to me starting to ride MX two years ago on my RM (which I SWORE I'd ride forever and never buy a 4 stroke)....... And then it HAPPENED. Last weekend I picked up an '09 CRF250!!! Pretty stoked to be honest. Can't wait to get it set up and hit the track.
A bit more about me......I'm a 24 yr old auto tech, recently got married to the coolest chick a guy could ask for. I also enjoy riding supermoto, sport bikes, BMX, mountain biking, snowboarding and pretty much anything else that's fun and exciting. Just all around like to have fun and continue to progress at everything I do. I'm definitely a very competitive person.
Riding Goals
First and fore-most.... Learn to ride ruts better and learn how to scrub and control my bike more in the air. I think I have a LOT to learn in those areas and I think they will help me the most. I really hope to be able to drop some gates next season and get some more experience.
Competitive Highlights
I've only raced two official MX races. One was a vintage (MOVMX) race which I placed 1st in my class (Novice 500) and 3rd overall out of the 14 riders on my gate. The second, and most recent, was a Novice 250 race which was at one of the local tracks here in town. There was only one other bike on the gate and he was much more experienced. I managed to stay right on his rear tire for 3 laps but then got a bit sloppy and he exploited that a little :-). Definitely looking forward to the '13 MoState races next year.
