Personal History

Hello.  My name is John, and I have three children, two adult sons and a 17 year old daughter.  They are all very important to me.  My two sons are on their own, and my daughter lives with her mother. I also have a girlfriend who is important to me. Now that my sons are grown and on their own, I do not get to see them as much during the week, but when Friday comes a smile comes to my face knowing we will be together all weekend racing motocross which is something we love to do.  It seems to me that racing motocross brings families together, and motocross is very important to me.  It is priceless for me to know that when the weekend is here, I will get to see my sons practice and my daughter that has disabilities laugh, smile, and cheer us on.

Riding Goals

I began to ride at the age of 5 when my father bought me a mini bike and taught me how to ride in the back of a grocery store parking lot.  I would ride from sunrise to sunset until finally the tires were worn completely off my mini bike.  My father knew, at that point, that he had found something we could both share and do together because he also rode motorcycles.  Several bikes were bought and sold over the years.  My father and I would ride together just as my sons and I do today.  For me and my family, it is all about the love of the sport and the closeness it brings to the family.

My goal for the 2015 season is to be track champion again at the Doublin Gap Motocross Track as I was in 2011.  I would also like to win the Maryland State Championship.  I took 2nd place in the Maryland State Championship at the age of 30.  I am 51 years old now, but I still race in the 30+/50+ classes.  I have always finished in the top 3.

Competitive Highlights

I was track champion at the Doublin Gap Motocross track in 2011, and I took 3rd place in 2014 in the 50+ class at Budds Creek.  In April of 2014, I took 2nd place in the 50+ class at Sleepy Hollow.
