Personal History
I started riding off road in 1981, soon after that a friend talked me into racing motocross. Well, that was all it took, I was hooked, and ever since i have had dirt in my blood. I went from novice to expert quickly and even rode in the first Las Vegas 400 Desert Race, which was the split of for bikes from the Mint 400 racing from 1981-1982. I was a young newlywed with a baby on the way, so I unfortunately had to stop riding and racing to support my family.
In 2007 my family talked me into buying a Raptor 700 quad to go out to the dunes with them. I soon met the owner and staff of a small off-road shop. They also rode quads and invited me to a night desert race, when I arrived the owner of the shop asked if I had my gear with me, which I did, he asked if I wanted to stand in for one of their riders who could not make, so I did. Well, once again the race bug bit and I was soon a member of their team. We ended that season with a 2nd in the expert class and continued to race other races together.
When the team split up I tried a WORCS Race and have been racing in that series since 2010. I had to take some time off the have a medical procedure, but came back to win the Championship in 2012 in the 50 B class.
As I said a couple times "I have dirt in my veins and will not stop riding and racing until My body tells me I can no longer do it.
Riding Goals
My goals are simple " to ride and race until I can no longer hold on ", although I when I say race I mean the whole picture. Since I started racing I found so many life long friends. I enjoy the faces of the young riders when I remove my helmet and they see my age and make comments as to the level off riding that I do. It is one of my favorite parts of the race scene, I have the opportunity to mentor young riders and inspire them to go out and have fun no matter what level of rider they are, them against the track is what I teach. Be respectful of your fellow riders and fans, for it is a group they come to see and we are all responsible to uphold the integrity of the sport.
I will be completing in a few series this year, with the main focus being to win the 2016 Championship in the 50 B Class of WORCS. I will also be competing in the 40 B Class which I do to allow myself to compete in a larger class.
I will also be competing in the Vegas to Reno race in the Best of the Desert Series, this has been on my bucket list for some time. We as a team will be the oldest team to enter and compete in the quad expert class, and believe me, we intend to not only finish but win.
