Personal History
My name is Joel Anderson Im 29 years old from Livermore CA. My parents moved my older sister and I to the east bay area from Sacramento when I was about 7. Growing up as a young child my father would take me to the local MX tracks and OHV parks and ocassionally a Supercross or Arenacross race to let me watch and thats when I fell in love and became obsessed with Moto. He bought me my first bike at age 11 and gettng a late jump in the sport I was racing by 13. A couple years later the family was fully supportive in my dream and would take me to every sanction series and race that they could afford. I never really had any other hobbies or wanted to do anything but ride so I was devoted and quickly moved up through the classes and was racing consistantly at the top of the B class/intermediate by age 16. Racing that class for sometime getting read to turn pro in 2004 I dealt with what seemed to be a never ending plague of injuries. Finally I turned pro in 2006 and began my pursuit of getting an AMA pro license. Again I suffered a few more serious injuries and ended up having to back down from racing for a while. Not until more recently in the last year and a half have I been healthy enough and been able to afford my dream of racing again.
Riding Goals
My goals for this next year are to race and compete in at least two northern regional series and two southern regional series finishing in the top 5 at the end of the chamionships. I would like to obtain enough points for my AMA pro license so I can race a few or more the outdoor national races willing I can get the backing and afford it. I also would like to race the Four Stroke Nationals, Glen Helen World Vet nationals, Mammoth, Day in the Dirt and finish respectively near the top of my class.
Competitive Highlights
I dont think one race or series stands out more than another with every race and championship having its own battle and war over the years they have all been epic but my latest finish at the Glen Helen World Vet National placing a 2nd in moto 1 and a 3rd in moto 2 on the first day with another 2nd in moto 1 the second day before DNFing moto 2 in the plus 25 expert class(no pro class for this age group) amongst some very respectable riders was pretty awesome.
