Personal History
In 1998 when I moved to Miami, I bought my first bike. It was a red/white/black 1997’ YZF 750. After learning the basics, I proceeded to tear up the streets of the city every chance I could get. Any excuse to ride was a good one!
After a couple of years of riding for fun, I ended up participating in a Championship Cup Series event at the end of the 2002 season, and so began my obsession with all that is motorcycle racing! There was no turning back, I was in love with competing on bikes, and I started road racing in the CCS Fl, region. In 2004 I won a race, got several podiums, and the overall championship for the series in the Expert Thunderbike class. Half way through the road race season of 2003, I picked up a CR 250 dirt bike for fun, however, my attention and efforts stayed focused on road racing.
Entering the 2005 road race season, I was injured on the dirt bike, and only competed in road racing a few times that year. I continued to tear it up on the dirt though, and had previously won my first beginner MX race at the end of 04’. That must have been when my addiction morphed from asphalt to dirt. The dirt took hold, and road racing started to get in the way of my MX compulsion. Consequently, in the last couple of years I have been racing 250/open, Open, B class, +25, +30 and four stroke on occasion. It’s a love and an obsession for sure, a constant that may hurt at times, but never lets you down. My results have been mixed with wins and losses, but progress none-the-less. My development as a rider has been steady, and I feel that each event has been a constructive experience regardless of the outcome.
