Personal History
RACER: Jason “Byrd” Vaughen BIRTHDATE: Dec 11 1974 (Age 34) CLASS: 4 Stroke MACHINE: 2009 CRF 450 YEARS RACING: 5 MEMBERSHIPS: AMA 1244 Linda Ln. ::: Dayton Oh. ::: 45324::: PH 937.272.2333 ::: EMAIL PERSONAL I started riding motocross with a friend of mine when I was about 17, getting a late start in the game because my mother was scared. I bought all of my own bikes and worked a lot so that I could ride as much as possible. I stopped racing at about 22 when I joined the Navy, never being able to kick the sport. Now 12 years later, I have started riding again this time bringing my 6 year old son into the sport. After riding for the last year bringing it all back into my mind and body I am ready to start racing again. In the meantime being able to spend quality time with my son enjoying my favorite past times now also his. INTERESTS Of course its motocross, I also like customizing vehicles which by the way I am very good at. I like all of my rides to say “hey out of these 25 bikes look at me first….” I feel that this will be great for my sponsors. I also like building websites in my free time when I’m not training or riding my new 450. GOALS & CHALLENGES FOR 2009 • Finish in the top 7 in at least 10 races in 2009, including Dayton Motorcycle Club, • Shave at least 5 seconds from my best practice lap time in all my races this coming year • Work on my speed and balance in corners and whoop sections • Beat my friend Knob at New Vienna Motocross park every race this year LOL TRAINING
I ride practice two to three times per week averaging 40 laps per day (8 lap motos.)
I also ride my bicycle and run to build my endurance. I want to go to Bailey MX School
for one week with my family to work on my corner speed and mental preparedness for racing.
SPONSORSHIP INFO
Braking. Their financial assistance and complimentary
products enable me to keep racing every week and is truly appreciated. I now pay for
almost everything and I want to be able to afford the sport for myself as well as for my son who is now six. I am getting him started early as I never had that chance growing up. As with all of my sponsors, I promise
to use your products and promote your business with everyone I talk to. Of course, I will always
display your logo stickers neatly and prominently on all of my bikes.
