Personal History

I began riding in 2006 and started to race in 2009 . I enjoy all aspects of our sport, from prepping the bike to testing new products to racing, and everything in between. I've been working with Steve Hatch for over a year now, and his programs and philosophies have tremendously improved my training procedures and my riding ability. I also receive great support from my parents and other family members, as they are around whenever I need them for motorcycle related issues as well as any issues.

My past years of racing have went extremely well. In 2011 went undefeated in the Open B division of the AMRA racing season and won both the Open B series championship and the Overall B series championship. I then experience a series of setbacks with engine failures and injuries requiring surgery, as well as playing football during my undergraduate career, that kept me off the bike for some time. I started riding competitively again about a year ago and was able to jump into the highly competitive Open A class. I was able to finish the year with three wins, as well as one overall A win, and win the AMRA Open A championship. This allowed me to finish sixth overall in points and automatically qualifies me for the Pro/AA divison.

On another note, my education is very important to me. I have worked very hard academically to graduate with a 3.95 GPA in High School. I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelors of Exercise Science degree in May 2014, also with a GPA of 3.95. I am now pursing my Doctorate of Physical Therapy, and just completed my first year.

Riding Goals

My riding/racing goals have always been to improve myself, whether I was competing in the 85cc beginner class or entering the Pro class. My ultimate goal is to win a race, then win a championship in the professional division. Another goal of mine is to work with a professional team and become an elite off-road racer.  I have elevated my training program and nutrition in order to help my transition into the pro class. I also work on skills/drills as well as other methods of riding weekly in order to improve my skill set to become a more competitive racer. I hope to become a racer that people are proud to know.

Competitive Highlights

I have several competitive highlights. One of my most memorable races was a race I actually finished second in. In 2010, I raced the Boulder City GP outside Las Vegas, NV. I had a 90 minute battle over second place, where another rider and myself passed each other over 30 times throughout the race. For much of the race we were within a couple seconds of each other, but I was able to pull away the last 1/2 mile and "win" second place. It was not a win, but it was one of the most fun but most challenging and competitive races I have ever done.

Another highlight of mine was the AMRA Rd #6 in February 2015. I was able to get the holeshot, pass several pro riders, and finished with my first Open A win, as well as wining the Overall A division and finishing fourth overall, just two minutes behind the overall leader after two hours of racing. This was one of my most complete races and I was able to race at a level higher than I ever have before.

The seventh round of the AMRA series was in March of this year in 2015. I was able to get a great start and pass for the lead in the second corner, and was able to open up a descent gap. I had a rider catch me towards the end of the first 35 miles, but I was able to open back up a gap. I settled back into a pace and tried to ride smart as I was racing for the championship, but about 10 miles later I noticed one of the best A riders in the series was closing in on me. He closed the gap and was about 10 seconds behind me. I decided to kick up my pace and see if I could put some time in on the rider behind me, as I really didn't want to lead 3/4 of the race then not put up a fight for the win. I was able to up my intensity and open up a sizeable gap, catching a rider over a minute ahead of me at the halfway point, and was able to take the win with over a minute ahead of arguably at that time the best A rider in the series.  This gave me a lot of confidence that I could race with the best in the series.

Both of the previous highlights led me to one of my best competitive highlights, winning the 2014-2015 AMRA Open A Championship. I went into the year after almost four years of not racing, and was hoping to be able to keep pace and land on the podium. It took me a while and a lot of hard work, but I was able to land on the podium on seven of eight races, and win the final three races of the season under some very tough competition. Winning this championship is something I dreamed of, and I always aspired to become an accomplished expert rider. This championship represented all the hard work and support I received from my incredible sponsors, fiance, family, friends, and myself.
