Personal History
I am 23 years old and a full time employee as a Service Advisor in the Service department at an RV dealership. I started riding dirt bikes when I was 4 years old. After a few years, my father and I started flat tracking quads and riding in the sand dunes as a hobby. When the economy went under, we unfortunately lost all of our quads, our toy hauler, horses, and childhood home. It was quite devastating as riding was my life. As things were turning around and we were starting to be able to afford to get back into riding, right after my high school graduation in 2011, I was in a horrible car accident caused by a drunk driver. He ended up getting away with everything and I was left in debt with medical bills for thousands and thousands before I turned 18. I was bed ridden due to breaking my back and 100% not allowed to ride. Fast forward to 2014 and after dedicating lots of hard work to pay my medical bills off while saving up for a bike, I bought myself a (new to me) 2009 CRF250R. I decided I wanted to be a hill climber. Before my accident, I never hill climbed dirt bikes and just went to the local small hill climb and watched my friends compete. I had not been on 2 wheels (besides pit bikes) in probably 10 years. I was (and still am) extremely quick, ruthless, and had no fear on a quad. Transitioning to a full size dirt bike with a little fear in the back of my head I could really injure my back was quite the task at first.
Riding Goals
Since 2014, I have grown from a girl who couldn't even make it over an easy local hill climb to competing in the NAHA (North American Hillclimbers Association) Pro circuit. In 2016, I couldn't afford to travel/ take the time off work to each race and only competed in 2 of 5 events. But after being promoted at work, we were dedicated for 2017.
Before the season started, I had a great support group of hill climbers wanting me to sign up for the Men's 450 Pro class. I finally did and the NAHA board members did not accept it. We appealed it and fought back. We finally got the approval and now I am the first female to compete in this class. As of July 1st, 2017, I am in 25th place for points out of 119 riders in this class.
I am also competing in the Women's Pro class. Right now I am in the top 3 for the points chase towards the #1 plate at the end of the season.
My goal for 2017 is to win the women's pro #1 plate and place in the top 20 for the Men's 450 Pro class.
