Personal History

Hello, my name is Jessica Cook. I race motocross....OF COURSE!!!

I am currently getting back into racing after an injury last year (2007).

I got my first bike in August, 2007; a CRF150F. I had never been on a dirt bike in my life, before then. Well, my dad; a friend of ours, Trip; oh, and can't forget my best bro, Jack Guffey all started working with me and by September, I was racing.

On October 21, 2007, I was racing at Twin Peaks MX. In my 2nd moto, a girl (Kourtney Payne, one of my very bestest girls) and I were racing together and we went over a jump, a blind jump. She was maybe a second or two ahead of me, and when she landed, she wrecked. Well, I couldn't see that she had wrecked until I was in the air, and when I landed, I had no where to go. I was already scared of what was going to happen before it even happened, because she was sitting next to her bike. Luckily, I only hit her bike, but I went end over end. When I landed, I broke my wrist just behind the joint and had to have surgery to have a metal plate and screws put in, lots of therapy and 3 months of downtime (which seemed like a million years).

For Christmas, I got a CRF150R, and when I was released from the doctor, I was immediately practicing. I have been in 2 races this 2008 season as of now (March 2008), and so far, so good!

I would like to give a special thanks to my Dad (who also races) for being such a great coach! No matter how aggravated I get while practicing or racing, he lets me know what I need to improve on and how to do it next time. I would also like to thank my mom for being the great mom she is and for supporting what I do, and for being at every single race to support and cheer for me, my dad, and my bro, Jack Guffey. I LOVE YOU GUYS!!! I COULDN'T DO IT WITHOUT YOU!!!

I would also like to thank the Riderdown Foundation! They helped me so much during my recovery and encouraged me to keep my spirits up. They are a very nice group of people! Everybody, if you get a chance, please check out their site ~ www.riderdown.org   You will be glad you did!

Thanks to Trip for helping me get started and thank to Beth for being supportive and for being the sweetheart that you are.

Big thanks to my family! Even though some of them may not like that I do this sport, I love them anyways. Thanks to those in my family who come to some of my races and support me anyways.

Most of all, all my thanks goes to God for keeping me safe and giving me the opportunity to continue racing; without Him, none of it is possible.

Riding Goals

I want to be running in the top consistently in the boys classes!!
