Personal History
I created this profile for my son Colton. He will be 7 on July 17th & has been racing for two years. His first bike was a Honda 50 & now has a 2023 & a 2024 KTM 50sx. He absolutely loves MX & has progressed so much in the last 6 months. He's a great kid. He wears his heart on his sleeve sometimes but that doesn’t slow him down on the track. His dad & I absolutely love watching him grow in this sport.
This is the first year of him racing on big tracks, currently in the OSCS (Oklahoma State Series) and he’s doing great! We’re looking forward to trying out arenacross in the winter.
If there is anything else you’d like to know, please feel free to ask.
Riding Goals
At his age, I think his main goal right now is conquering the ruts in the turns & to keep up with the more advanced riders. So far, he’s about to reach those two goals. Once he gets past those, I’m sure he’ll be pushing for as many first place spots as he can get because he knows his next bike is a 65 so he’s going to be really pushing to prove to us that he’ll be ready for a bigger bike next year. His dad & I have no doubt that he’ll reach that goal in a very short time.
Competitive Highlights
He's done great with figuring out how to deal with the fact that a lot of things during a race are out of his control. It has humbled him & helped him ride so much better. He just won his very first 1st place trophy a couple weeks ago since he got his 50sx & it’s done wonders for his confidence. We’ve done a few training camps & they’ve helped a lot. He goes way faster this year than he did before & is just overall becoming a better rider. He's learned how to handle the track just in general. That in itself is a huge accomplishment. He hits all of the jumps, stands up more, his form & positing while he rides has improved so much.
