Personal History

I am Jerry Turnbull, I am 58 years old. I have been riding MX since age 8. Motorcycle riding and racing has been a part of my life and that of my family for almost as long as I can recall. I main thing that keeps me riding and racing is the people involved in this sport. I see them at the track, the practice sessions, and in many social settings. They are my extended family, one that I truly appreciate.

I started riding mini-bikes as a kid, a Honda CT70 was my first experience on two wheels, then you could find me on anything that I could get a leg over.

I suffered what I thought was a career ending injury in February 2006, riding at Cooperland in Stillwater, Ok. I had flat landed a large jump and fractured my C5 vertebrae into five pieces. My orthopedic surgeon said I would never ride again. In April of 2014 I bought a Yamaha YZF450 to try riding again. I was super slow, and super scared of reinjuring myself, but it did not take long for the instinctive reactions to comeback, as well as the desire to go fast.

Today, after realizing how much additional strength and cardio training I was going to require, I am looking forward to competing again. I have been training hard, and will be riding all winter at an indoor facility in New Richmond, WI called Cedar Lake Arena in an attempt to get a jump start on training for the 2018 season.

In my professional life, I own a business where sales is an integral part of my day. I take my relationship with the companies that support me seriously, I do my best to represent and promote their products and services to the racing community and the general public. If I can assist them in reaching or increasing their market share, it is a win for everyone involved.

Riding Goals

I have high expectations for the 2022 season. I will be competing in the AMA District 22 Iowa race schedule, but will mainly concentrate on the racing all 12 rounds of the Lucas Oil Outdoor Nationals with my 3 rider team... consisting of Wade Brommel, and Izaih Clark. I am also be sponsoring Mason Kerr in the East Coast 250 Supercross series.
