Personal History

I have been riding dirt bikes since I was 5 years old.  Started out riding trails on a 1991 Yamaha YZ60 with my dad, uncle, and brother.  After some years of riding and traveling around to different trails I decided to race when I turned 11.  I raced motocross till I was 18, working my way up from beginner to novice and then amateur.  When I turned 18, my uncle was traveling around the hare-scramble circuit, so I joined him in the trails again.  Racing the Western NY off-road series was a lot of fun and I was doing well until 2006 when I was in a street bike accident which landed me in the hospital for 20 days.  I had hit a car head on and shattered both of me feet.  A year after that I shattered my ankle skiing.  SO needless to say I was sick of getting injured and I didn't touch a dirt bike or motorcycle for 5 years after that.  In 2011 one of my buddies convinced me to take my dads bike out and race the last event of the year.  Hesitant to do it at first, I was peer pressured into racing the C class and I won my first race out... obviously I was instantly hooked again.  The year after that I raced the B class on my 450 and was finishing a consistent top 3 until I broke my shoulder in a late November practice ride.  This year I decided to challenge myself and enter the A class but the shoulder injury really played a factor in the amount I was able to ride and workout.  With decent results in 2013 and no major injuries,  I hope to train harder and do much better this year.

Riding Goals

The 2014 season should be a great year for me.  I have already started  my off season training and ripped my bike apart for a complete chassis and engine rebuild.  I plan of training hard, riding my practice track, and doing a couple different types of events this year. The goal is to get my bike back together by the end of the year and ride a few winter hare-scrambles to get more seat time on the 2 stroke I switched over too.  Once the season starts I would like to race a couple Enduros, hare-scrambles, J-day races, and maybe GP or two.  I like to stick in the woods so I doubt Ill do any motocross racing, although I did just apply for a membership at our local motocross track for some cross training during the week.  My goal is to get consistent top 5 finishes in the A class at any WNYOA event that I enter.  To accomplish this goal I will need to work hard, ride more, and work closely with my sponsors to keep my bike in top shape during the season.
